United Timber Industries was born of the
entrepreneurial spirit of Late Mr.
Suleman Ismail Chhapra more than 5
decades ago in the year 1951. That same
spirit has made us prosper and to become
one of the reputed timber companies in
India and also, around the world. As we
have grown, we have also diversified and
as always, all our new expansions have
come as a direct result of our wood
related experiences.
Today the company is headed by Mr.
Mohamed Hussain Suleman Chhapra and
Mr. Mohamed Iqbal Suleman Chhapra.
Even in this modern era, United Timber
Industries is fully family owned and
family controlled . All major areas of
administration are totally controlled by
the Chhapra family, with total
responsibility of management and
decision making, resting on the
shoulders of Mr. Mohamed Hussain
Suleman Chhapra and Mr. Mohamed
Iqbal Suleman Chhapra, assisted by
their sons Fardeen Mohamed Hussain
Chhapra, Sameer Mohamed Iqbal Chhapra
and Khalid Mohamed Iqbal Chhapra.
With a global presence and a dedicated
workforce in major teak producing
countries in Asia, West Africa, South America
and Central America, we have come a long
way from our humble beginning as a small
time timber dealing company in the
1950's to a multi - activity, multi -
national company with a presence in over
15 countries, over 4 continents. Today
United Timber Industries has vested
interests not only in activities related
to timber, but also in activities
related to steel, metal scrap, real
estate and construction.
